Gail Josephine Lachermeier, age 41, of Cokato, died suddenly Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at her home.
She was born June 13, 1966, to Duane ‘Woody’ and Betty (Poirier) Lachermeier in Winsted.
Gail loved to socialize with her family and friends. She was an excellent cook, and enjoyed taking care of her many plants. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Gail was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, John Poirier; and paternal grandparents, Leo and Josephine Lachermeier.
She is survived by her loving children, Erin and Nicholas Gilmer, and Danielle Lachermeier; parents, Duane ‘Woody’ and Betty Lachermeier; sisters Cece Trejo, Colleen (Dean) Ellefson, and Teri (David Grage) Lachermeier; brother Steven ‘Beaver’ (Jodi) Lachermeier; grandmother Elsie Poirier; nieces; nephews; and many other family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial was Saturday, May 3 at 10 a.m. at the Church of St. Mary in Waverly. Father Timothy Cloutier was the officiant. Mae Wannarka played the organ, and the church choir sang. Interment was at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Dean Ellefson, David Grage, John Stedje, Brent Gilmer, Cord Pauman, and Jessie Spike. Honorary pallbearers were Cathy Spike and Kimi Pauman. Everyone was invited to share Gail’s life and memories at the Montrose Community Center.
Visitation took place Friday, May 2 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the church, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., and continued Saturday for one hour prior to the Mass.
The Peterson Chapel Buffalo Funeral Home served the family.
