Edward Paul Lagergren Obituary – 06/05/08


Edward Paul Lagergren, age 94, of Rochester, formerly of Howard Lake, died Thursday, June 5, 2008, at Sunrise Cottages, Rochester, of Alzheimer’s Disease.

He was born June 28, 1913, in Sauk Rapids, and married Louise Liefson there June 29, 1938.

Edward served in the US Army during WWII in the European Theater, from 1944 to 1946.

He managed lumber yards before his retirement in 1978, and lived in Howard Lake until moving to Rochester in January, 2001.

Edward enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing.

He was a life member of the Howard Lake American Legion and VFW posts, and a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rochester.

Survivors include his daughter, Joanne (Dale) Weber of Rochester; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Harold Lagergren of Colorado.

Edward was preceded in death by his wife, Louise; his son, Richard; his grandson, Bill; and two sisters, Ione Callahan and Hazel Young.

A private family memorial service will take place at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Rochester with the Rev. Dr. James W. Heining officiating.

Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Homes, Rochester is assisting with the arrangements.
