Edwin “Ed” A. Lindenberg, age 99, of Delano, died Monday, March 24, 2008, at the Golden Living Center in Delano.
He was born Feb. 16, 1909, to William and Alma (Schulz) Lindenberg in Laketown Township, Minn.
Ed was united in marriage to Clementine Sunday Nov. 22, 1932, and they enjoyed 56 years of marriage.
Ed and Clementine moved to Delano the year they were married, where ED served on the Delano Volunteer Fire Department for 27 years, and was an active member of Delano American Legion Post 377 for 63 years.
He was employed with the Wright County Highway Department for 37 years,
Ed enjoyed people and was always available for a good conversation. He was blessed with good health until recent years, when arthritis caused him difficulties. He had been a resident of the Golden Living Center in Delano for the past three years.
Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Clementine; parents William and Alma Lindenberg; sisters Marjorie Stender, Adeline Koch, and Dorothy Schrode; and brothers Marvin William Jr. “Bud” Lindenberg, and Raymond Lindenberg.
He is survived by his siblings, Lucille Stender and Gilbert Lindenberg; and special friend Monica Welker; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial took place Thursday, March 27 at the St. Peter Catholic Church in Delano with the Rev. Michael Miller officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Arrangements were by the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
