Gladys Joyce Lindstrom, age 71, of Ellsworth, Wis., formerly of Cokato, died Friday morning, Feb. 29, 2008.
She was born Jan. 3, 1937, in Cokato, the daughter of Ronald and Esther (Kinnunen) Barberg. Gladys grew up in Minneapolis, and graduated from North High School in 1955.
In 1960, Gladys met J. Harold Lindstrom at the Prom Ballroom in the Twin Cities, and they were married Feb. 10, 1962, in Minneapolis. The couple soon moved to Ellsworth, Wis., where they farmed until 1990, when they semi-retired and began spending their winters in Plant City, Fla.
Gladys was an outgoing and giving person with many hobbies and interests including ceramics, painting, camping, and animals. Most importantly, she will be remembered for her caring nature toward her family and friends. She loved spending time with her grandkids, and gathering at family reunions.
Gladys is survived by her husband of 46 years, J. Harold Lindstrom of Ellsworth, Wis.; children Kevin Lindstrom and his wife, Jeanne, and Dawn Lindstrom, all of Ellsworth, Wis.; grandchildren Matthew and Bryan; brother Harvey (Heidi) Barberg of Cokato; brother-in-law Ralph Lindstrom of Ellsworth, Wis.; two aunts; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives, and special friends.
Gladys’ parents and several aunts and uncles preceded her in death.
The funeral service was Monday, March 3 at noon at English Lutheran Church in Ellsworth, Wis. Friends called at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment was at Maple Grove Cemetery in Ellsworth.
