Anna Elsie Lueck

Anna Elsie Lueck, age 90, of Glencoe, died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, at Glencoe Regional Health Services.

She was born May 9, 1918, in Winsted, the daughter of Henry and Frieda (Harmel) Schade. Anna was baptized by Rev. Ernst, and was later confirmed into the faith, in 1932, at First Ev. Lutheran Church by Rev. Kolbe.

She was united in marriage with Roy Gustav Lueck July 17, 1937, at First Lutheran Church by the Rev. A. Streufert.

Anna devoted her life to her family, who were her pride and joy. She enjoyed reading and hearing people tell about their vacations. She had a large vegetable and flower garden, and each year, she canned over 500 quarts of vegetables and fruit.

Anna loved the simple things in life. She especially enjoyed the outdoors, trees, birds, flowers, and more than life, her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Douglas; brothers George Schade, Richard Schade, David Schade, and Louis Schade; and sister Dorothy Bright.

Anna is survived by her children, Beverly Hanson (husband Harold) of Hutchinson, Karen Covington of Glencoe, Rosalie Hemerick (husband David) of Glencoe, Sally Kloth (husband Richard) of Lakefield, and Sue Carlson of Hopkins; grandchildren Dawn Roth (husband Steve), Mary White (husband Terry), Kari Kube (husband David), Todd Brekke, Michelle Woodford (husband Michael), Douglas Kloth (wife Amy), Justin Kloth, Melisa Jensen (husband John) and Jamie Carlson (wife Jennifer); 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She is further survived by her sisters, Bertha Dorman (husband Les) of St. Paul, and Ardis Meyer (husband Earl) of Two Harbors; as well as many other relatives and friends.

The funeral service took place Sunday, Aug. 24 at 3 p.m. at First Ev. Lutheran Church in Glencoe with visitation for one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Ronald Mathison officiated. The organist was Cheryl Andrix, and the congregational hymns included “What A Friend We Have In Jesus,” “Asleep In Jesus,” and “Just A Closer Walk With Thee.” Interment was in the church cemetery.

Serving as casket bearers were Douglas Kloth, Justin Kloth, Michael Woodford, Jamie Carlson, Todd Brekke, and Earl Meyer.
