Roger C. Luedke, age 67, of Waconia, died Friday July 11, 2008, at the Elim Home of Watertown.
He was born Dec. 30, 1940, in Watertown, the son of Reuben and Verna (Asmus) Luedke. Roger was baptized Jan. 19, 1941, and confirmed Jan. 3, 1955, at St. John Lutheran Church in Hollywood Township.
Roger loved listening to country music. He was a huge sports fan, following the Twins and Vikings.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Reuben and Verna Luedke; and a sister, Ardelle Heller.
Roger is survived by his loving family: sons and daughters-in-law Roger and Marina Luedke of Maple Grove, Jeffrey and Amy Luedke of Inver Grove Heights, and Craig and Joan Luedke of Bloomington; grandchildren Blair, Brooke, Michael, Shane, Jayar, and Travis; sister and brother-in-law Carol and Don Urbach of Glencoe; brothers and sister-in-law Sheldon Luedke of Spicer, and Donald and Carol Luedke of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
The funeral service took place Tuesday, July 15 at 11 a.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church in New Germany with visitation two hours prior to the service. The Rev. Donald Urbach officiated, and interment was at St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Hollywood Twp.
Roger’s children and grandchildren were his casket bearers.
