Flora A. Luedtke, age 98, of New Germany, died Friday Aug. 15, 2008, at the Auburn Home in Waconia.
She was born Oct. 21, 1909, in Mayer, the daughter of Herman L. and Magdalena D. (Hill) Zummach. Flora was baptized Nov, 7, 1909, at Zion Lutheran Church in Mayer by the Rev. F. W. Erthal, and confirmed by the same April 13, 1924.
Flora was united in marriage to Walter A. Luedtke April 12, 1931, at Zion Lutheran Church in Mayer by the Rev. F. W. Erthal.
A wonderful loving wife, mom, and grandma, Flora will be remembered for her love of her gardening and tending to her flowers.
Flora was preceded in death by her husband, Walter A. Luedtke; son Donald W. Luedtke; an infant son; son-in-law Norman Gatz; father and mother Herman and Magdalena Zummach; sisters Margaret Zellmann Burau and Luella Granzow; and brother Waldemar “Pete” Zummach.
She is survived by her loving family: daughter Elaine Gatz of Mayer; granddaughter Carol and husband Bill Braunwarth of Eden Prairie; great-grandsons Andrew Braunwarth of Thornton, Colo., and Jason Braunwarth of Eden Prairie; sisters Glenna Schumacher of Watertown, and Martha Kuntz of New Germany; nieces, nephews; and other relatives and friends.
The funeral service was Tuesday, Aug. 19 at 11 a.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church in New Germany with the Rev. LeRoy J. LaPlant officiating. Interment was at St. Mark Lutheran Cemetery in New Germany.
Visitation took place two hours prior to the service at the church.
Casket bearers were Andrew Braunwarth, Jason Braunwarth, Rodney Kuntz, Larry Stender, Charles Huepenbecker, and Ron Zellmann.
