Nora Lynn Marohl

Nora Lynn Marohl, age 61, of Dassel, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008, at Hutchinson Area Health Care in Hutchinson.

Nora was born May 24, 1947, in Cokato, the daughter of Arthur and Edith (Larson) Myllyla. She was baptized as an adult Feb. 3, 1973, at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cokato.

Nora received her elementary education in South Haven, and was a graduate of the Annandale High School Class of 1965.

She was united in marriage to Charles Dimond in 1965. This marriage was blessed with two children, Connie and Craig. Nora and Charles were divorced in 1970.

On May 27, 1971, Nora was united in marriage to Robert Marohl in Cokato. This marriage was blessed with two children, Rebecka and Roberta. Nora and Robert resided in the Cokato area until 1986, when they moved to Dassel. They shared 37 years of marriage.

In addition to being a loving mother and homemaker, Nora held employment at various jobs throughout her life, including working at nursing homes and working as a waitress.

She loved animals and enjoyed working in her flower gardens. Nora especially enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren.

Nora is survived by her husband, Robert Marohl of Dassel; children Connie Hurley and her husband, Mike, Craig Dimond and his wife, Carmen, Rebecka Springman and her husband, Ed, all of Dassel, and Roberta Kottke and her husband, Joe of Litchfield; 13 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Edith Myllyla.

A memorial service tookk place Friday, Dec. 5 at 11 a.m. at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Dassel, with the Rev. Keitih Carlson officiating. Organist was Harvey Peterson, and soloist Sheldon Hedin sang “How Great Thou Art.” “Amazing Grace” was sung by the congregation. Interment was in Kingston.

Andy Monson was honorary bearer.
