Herman B. McClellan, age 89, of Montrose, formerly of Long Lake, died Sunday, July 20, 2008, at the St. Mary Care Center in Winsted.
He was born Oct. 15, 1918, to Herman Beguhl and Ivy Woolcott in Minneapolis.
Herman worked as a laborer in the construction industry, as well as being a farmer in the Long Lake and Montrose areas. He loved to care for his animals.
Herman especially loved to spend time with his grandchildren, teasing them and then sending them home.
He is survived by his children, Herman and Darlene, Michael and Julie, Alice, Janet and Gary, and Fred; 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; siblings Leona, Louise, Emil, Marvin, Mildred, Freddie, and Dean; as well as many other family members.
Herman was preceded in death by his wife Alice; and siblings LeRoy, Jack, Inez, and Harry.
Funeral services took place Thursday, July 24 at 10 a.m. at the Iten Funeral Chapel in Delano with the Rev. Bob Haskin officiating. Interment was in the Kreidler cemetery in Montrose.
Casket bearers were Brent McClellan, Scott Halderson, Roger Halderson, Jarrod McClellan, Ryan McClellan, Kyle McClellan, Michael Reich, and Chase Swenson.
Arrangements were by the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
