Mary M. Milbrandt, age 82, of Sycamore, IL, formerly of Howard Lake, died Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL.
She was born March 20, 1926, in Howard Lake, the daughter of Charley and Mary (Patrick) Smith.
Mary was a 1950 graduate of St. Cloud Teacher’s College in St. Cloud.
She married the Rev. Paul H. Milbrandt Aug. 23, 1954, in Howard Lake.
Mary was a former school teacher, homemaker, and a preacher’s wife. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, James W. Smith, and Vernon Smith; and a granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Gustafson.
She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Paul H. Milbrandt of Sycamore, IL; two daughters. Marlys Milbrandt-Knepper of DeKalb, IL, and Christine (Mark) Gustafson of Rockton, IL; four grandchildren; a brother, Richard (Phyllis) Smith of Howard Lake; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service took place Thursday, Nov. 20 at Quiram-Sycamore Funeral Chapel in Sycamore, IL, with the Revs. Mike Morrell and Mary Gay McKinney officiating. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery in Elmore, MN.
A visitation preceded the funeral service, from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel.
