Loren Douglas Murray, age 78, of Albert Lea, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester.
He was born Oct. 3, 1929, near Odessa, Minn., to Ruthven and Lora (Strei) Murray.
Loren graduated from Bellingham High School.
He was married to Arlene Vomhof June 6, 1954, in Winsted.
Loren was employed for many years at the Albert Lea Tribune. He was known and loved by many as a devoted husband, a loving father, and an adoring grandfather. He will be missed for his gentle smile and warm heart.
Loren was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Don, Ken, and Rudy; and sisters Inez Flager and Millie Lofthus.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Arlene; sons Paul Murray of Austin, Dave (Linda) Murray of North Mankato, and Tom (Denise) Murray of Grand Marais; daughter Ann (Tim) Colstrup of Ellendale, Minn.; grandchildren Andrea, Lisa, Ashley, Kevin, Lauren, Alex, Soren, Erik, Douglas, Daniel, Dennis, Darcie, Nathan, and Emily; great-grandchildren Dylan, Hannah, Jadyn, Ava, and James; a brother, Jim (Lois) Murray of Benson; twin sister Lorraine Murray of Ontario, Canada; and sisters Geneva Hayes of Appleton, Minn., and Ione Mortenson of South San Francisco, Calif.
Funeral service was Saturday, Feb. 16 at Zion Lutheran Church in Albert Lea, with private interment.
Arrangements were by the Bayview Funeral Home in Albert Lea.
