Olga A. Noeldner

Olga A. Noeldner, age 90, of Cologne, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008, at the Glencoe Regional Health Services Long Term Care.

Olga was born Oct. 6, 1917, in Hamburg, the daughter of Ehler and Anna (Mueller) Schmeckpeper. She was baptized Oct. 21, 1917, at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg by Rev. Bouman, and confirmed by the same March 29, 1931.

She was united in marriage to Harland R. Noeldner June 12, 1938, at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg by Rev. Bouman.

Olga was a 4-H member as a child, tending to her pet rabbits and squirrels. Some of Olga’s favorite activities were drawing, playing the concertina her father bought her, and dancing.

She spent a lot of her time sewing and tatting. Olga was a bird watcher, her favorite being the hummingbird. Most of all, she enjoyed being a housewife and looking after her family.

Olga was preceded in death by her husband, Harland; daughter Lynette Noeldner; parents Ehler and Anna Schmeckpeper; brothers Herb, Art, Herman, Ed, and Martin Schmeckpeper; and sisters Else Harms and Ruth Morgan.

She is survived by her loving family: sons and daughters-in-law Loren and Darlene Noeldner of Clear Lake, Lowell and Joyce Noeldner of Cologne, and Larry and Diane Noeldner of Young America; daughter and son-in-law Lydene and Lloyd Vinkemeier Jr. of Cologne; grandchildren Pamela Noeldner-Benson and Bob Benson, Patricia Noeldner, Julie and David Seiler, Jon and Naomi Noeldner, Bridgette and Robert Just, Bradley and Shari Noeldner, Ann and Gene Curtis, Kenneth and Sandra Noeldner, Kimberly and Michael Eggers, Lynn and Howard Zimbrick, and Leon and Sara Vinkemeier; and great-grandchildren Christine and Katelyn Benson, Benjamin, Jacob and Jack Noeldner, Wesley and Blake Just, Haley Noeldner, Caitlin Curtis, Bryce, Josh and Emily Noeldner. Alexis Eggers, and Charles Zimbrick.

Olga is further survived by sisters-in-law and brother-in-law Virginia Schmeckpeper of Casa Grande, Ariz., Delma Schneewind of Waconia, Hazel McDonald of Milwaukee, Wis., Doris Hart of Fairbanks, Ala., Avis Noeldner, and Howard and Margaret Noeldner, all of South Shore, S.D.; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.

The funeral service was Friday, Aug. 22 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia with the Revs. Robert Alsleben and Donald Andrix officiating. Interment was at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Patricia Noeldner, Brigette Just, Brad Noeldner, Ken Noeldner, Jon Noeldner, and Leon Vinkemeier. Honorary casket bearers were Pamela Noeldner-Benson, Julie Seiler, Ann Curtis, Lynn Zimbrick, and Kim Eggers.
