Mabel M. Olson, age 84, of Golden Valley, died Saturday, May 24, 2008.
Mabel served in joint ministry with her husband in pastorates associated with the Baptist General Conference in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Nebraska, Washington, and Illinois. She attended Bethel College and Seminary and served as an outreach missionary for the planting of Calvary Baptist in the 1940s.
Mabel excelled in poetry, and authored numerous books and articles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Edna Anderson.
Mabel is survived by her husband of nearly 61 years, Howard; son Richard (Kathleen); grandchildren Erica (Randal) Crone and Nathaniel Olson; great-grandchildren Noah and Ethan Crone; brother C. Wayne Anderson; and many other family members and friends.
Funeral service was Friday, May 30 at 11 a.m. at Calvary Church in Roseville, with interment in Union Cemetery.
Visitation took place Thursday, May 29 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Holcomb-Henry-Boom Funeral Home in Shoreview, and continued Friday for one-half hour preceding the service at Calvary Church.
Memorials are preferred to the Mission Fund of Calvary.
