Florence M. “Toots” Perusse, age 90, of Cologne, died Wednesday, April 9, 2008, at the Elim Home in Watertown.
Toots was born Nov. 16, 1917, in Laketown Township, Carver County, the daughter of Mathew and Helena (Notermann) Goetz. She was baptized and confirmed at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Chaska.
Florence was united in marriage to George T. Perusse Sr. March 30, 1944.
Toots was a loving wife, mom, grandma, and great-grandma. She farmed in Cologne until 1991, and resided on the farm until 2000, when she moved to Waconia.
Toots loved to play cards, do crafts, work crossword puzzles, and garden and tend her flowers. She enjoyed company, and loved to have a good time.
Toots was preceded in death by her husband, George T. Perusse Sr.; son George T. Perusse Jr.; great-grandson Robert Klein; parents Mathew and Helena Goetz; brothers Thomas, Martin, Clarence, Sylvester, Raymond, Rueben, Elmer and Vincent Goetz; and sister Eleanor Hauwiller.
She is survived by her loving family: daughter and son-in-law Sandra and Robert Klein of Watkins; grandson Steven Klein of St. Louis Park; granddaughter Kathy (Ryan) Pederson of Otsego; great-grandson Peter; sisters-in-law Verna Goetz, Mildred Goetz, Lu Ann Goetz, all of Waconia, Margaret Hedtke of Watertown, and Alice Kurtz of Michigan; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial took place Monday, April 14 at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Cologne with Father Paul Ardolf as celebrant of the Mass. Interment was at St. Bernard’s Catholic Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Larry Sanders, Tony Sanders, Leona “Mutch” Lindner, Bob Hedtke, Lyle Goetz, Lee Goetz, and Art Altenhofen.
