Florence C. (Laumann) Preiner, age 79, of Eden Prairie and Waconia, died Saturday, June 7, 2008, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
She was born Nov. 21, 1928, in Waconia, the daughter of Frank B. and Hildegard H. (Karels) Laumann. Florence was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waconia.
She was united in marriage to Leonard P. Preiner Nov. 23, 1968, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in St. Paul.
A devoted wife, loving daughter, sister, and aunt, Florence spent most of her life as a registered nurse in the medical field. She volunteered for many different organizations.
Florence loved to write poetry, played several musical instruments, and taught religion classes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; parents Frank and Hildegard Laumann; brothers Donald and Kenneth Laumann; sister-in-law Marguerite Laumann; and nephews David and Duane Laumann.
Florence is survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerald and Rose Laumann, Lloyd and Jean Laumann, all of Waconia, James and Sharon Laumann of Minnetonka, Denis and Bonnie Laumann of Waconia, and Ruby Laumann of Granite Falls; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial was Thursday, June 12 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waconia, with visitation two hours prior to the Mass at the church. Father Larry Blake was the celebrant. Interment was at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Florence’s nieces, Debbie Buesgens, Jean M. Laumann, Mary Wall, Amy Laumann, Sara Mizejewski, Elizabeth Adesida, Kathy Sether, Diane Vanderlinde, Kris Eveslage, and Patricia Laumann.
