Samuel Benjamin Prieve, age 64, of Humansville, Mo., formerly of Dassel and Hutchinson, died Sunday, March 16, 2008, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Mo.
Sam was born Dec. 22, 1943, in Minneapolis, to Benjamin and Clara (Peterson) Prieve.
He graduated from Litchfield High School in 1961. After high school, Sam attended Minnesota School of Business for bookkeeping.
Sam was married to Faye Putney July 3, 1975. Sam and Faye moved to Humansville, Mo. six years ago from Hutchinson.
A business owner of Lakeshore Products, S&D Industries, and Voyageur Tackle, Sam was an owner/operator truck driver and most recently, maintenance supervisor at Northwood Hills Care Center, before retiring in Humansville.
He also was active as a Mason and Shriner.
Survivors include his wife, Faye, of Humansville; three children, Teri (Jay) Martin of Hutchinson, Jerrie (Karla) Prieve of Dassel, and Kari (Matt) Hamm of Blaine; three step-children, Richard (Kim) Schumann of Hutchinson, Vickie (Mark) Shoutz of Dassel, and Michelle Molin of Zionsville, Ind.; a brother, David (Arlene) Prieve of Dassel; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Sam was preceded in death by his mother and father, Clara and Benjamin Prieve of Litchfield.
A memorial service will take place Thursday, May 22, at 4 p.m. at Lake Jennie Covenant Church in Dassel.
