Arline Eunice Rancour, age 87, of Montrose, died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2008.
She was born May 20, 1921, in rural Kingston, to Louis and Anna Nelson.
Arline married George Barberg of Minneapolis, the son of Isaac and Hannah Barberg of Cokato, May 31, 1947, at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church in Minneapolis with the Rev. Luther K. Youngdahl officiating. George passed away June 10, 1952.
Arline married Louis Rancour of Waverly, son of Tom and Bertha Rancour of Buffalo, Oct. 20, 1954, at St. Mary’s in Minneapolis with Father Martineau officiating. Louis passed away June 1, 2006.
In addition to her husbands, Arline was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Anna Nelson; sister Adeline Danielson; and brothers Jerome and Everett Nelson.
She is survived by a daughter, Connie (Gerald) Gruenhagen; sons Mike (Kathy) Rancour, Tony (Aimee) Rancour, Pat Rancour, and Vince Rancour; and grandchildren Tracy and Dana Rancour, Christina and Matt Gruenhagen, Sara Bublitz, and Luke and Rebecca Rancour.
Arline is further survived by a brother, Gordy Nelson of Watkins, a sister, Maxine (Andy) Tiffany of Woodland, Calif.; brother and sisters in-law Lorraine and Clarence Buehl of Buffalo, Dick and Esther Arne of Delano, Bill Rancour of Austin, Texas, Mary Riggs, and Beatrice Kruger of Wyoming; as well as other relatives and friends.
A memorial service took place Sunday, Aug. 17 at 2 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly, with visitation one-half hour before the service, and private interment at a later date.
