Marilyn (Anderson) Redmann, age 81, of Brea, Calif., formerly of Cokato, died Monday, July 14, 2008, at her home.
Marilyn was born in Cokato April 1, 1927. She had five siblings, Wayland, Aldoris, Joanne, Marshall, and Ronald.
She was swept off her feet by a handsome young Marine fresh from combat in World War II, Kenneth Redmann, who made her his wife. The couple moved out west, and Kenneth went to work at Kirkhill Rubber.
Marilyn and Kenneth raised four sons, Barry, Craig, Keith, and Marshall. The family was kept busy with Little League, football, and all manner of sports with the boys, and also as members of First Lutheran Church in Fullerton, Calif.
From her days on the farm in Cokato, Marilyn learned the value of fun and hard work, which she passed on to her children. She made many trips back to Minnesota to visit her siblings and their growing families.
Even after the death of her husband, Kenneth, in 1987, Marilyn continued to be the cornerstone of her family. She enjoyed hosting seasonal celebrations in her home, and remembered everyone’s birthdays.
Marilyn was a loving grandmother to all the children who came into her home over the years, loving them all and recognizing how each one was special. At the time of her death, she had 12 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, with a sixth due in September.
Funeral services have taken place in California.
