Darlene E. Reimer, age 83 of St. Bonifacius, died Friday, Aug. 8, 2008, at her residence.
She was born Jan. 20, 1925, in Strausburg, N.D., the daughter of Victor and Agnes (Weber) Jorissen.
Darlene was united in marriage to Leo J. Reimer Oct. 7, 1946, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Stewart.
Darlene enjoyed sewing, canning, embroidery, crossword puzzles, gardening, cooking and baking. She loved going to rummage sales, spending time with her grandchildren, and visiting with friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; sons Peter “Pete” Reimer and Paul “Runty” Reimer; mother and father Agnes and Victor Jorissen; sons-in-law William “Bill” Gravelle and Todd Schrupp; brother Victor Jorissen; mother-in-law and father-in-law Agnes and Charles Reimer; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Mary and Phil Doerfler, Lawrence and Agnes Reimer, Anna and Raymond Mayer, Melva and Oliver LaPlante, Raymond and Zadel Reimer, Charles and Verona Reimer, Laura and Herbert Karels, Margaret and Lorenzo Burville, Marlene Reimer, Herbert and Hellen Reimer, Irene and Carl Quist, Veronica and John Gertie, and John Maiers.
Darlene is survived by her loving family: children and their spouses Brenda and Dave Goede of Waconia, Jim Reimer of Delano, John Reimer of Virginia, Theresa Schrupp of Norwood, and Jean Reimer of St. Bonifacius; daughter-in-law Gwen Reimer of Carver; grandchildren David “Dave” Reimer, Donald “Bubba” Reimer, Mark and Missy Goede, Josh and Maya Goede, Althea Hedin, Lincoln Goede, Clayton Goede, Christine and Tim Keefe, James “Buddy” Reimer Jr. and friend Jen Kutzke, Michael Reimer, Jackie and Jake Jewell, Natalie and Dan Kotila, Alex Reimer and friend Landon Schiro, Nicole and Tim Bode, MacKenzie Schrupp, Corbyn Schrupp, Thomas “T.J.” Shulz Jr. and friend Nicole Gueningsman, Tyler Schulz; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She is further survived by sisters and brothers-in-law Claire and Andy Schumaker, Marie Roberts, all of North Dakota; and Mae and Carl Beatrez of Hutchinson; brothers and sister-in-law John Jorissen of Mankato, and Henry and Jackie Jorissen of Colorado; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law Mary Jorissen of Minneapolis, Hubert Reimer of Annandale, and Delores “Dottie” Maiers of Mankato; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial took place Tuesday, Aug. 12 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in St. Bonifacius with Father Tom Balluff as celebrant of the Mass.
Visitation was Monday, Aug. 11 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the St. Boniface Catholic Church Fellowship Hall with a vigil prayer at 7:30 p.m., and continued Tuesday one hour prior to the Mass at the church.
Casket bearers were James “Buddy” Reimer, T.J. Schulz, David Reimer, Mark Goede, Lincoln Goede, and Don Reimer.
