Elsie M. Schauer Obituary – 11/16/08


Elsie M. Schauer, age 93, of Winsted, formerly of Green Isle, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008, at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted.

Elsie was born Feb. 28, 1915, to Henry and Alvina (Telthoester) Lindemeier in Huntley, MT.

She married Ordwin Schauer Feb. 4, 1934, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Green Isle Township.

Elsie loved fishing, gardening her vegetables and flowers, sewing, and playing cards. She also enjoyed her ability to drive to the Twin Cities in her earlier years. In her later years, she liked to travel and ride along for entertainment and for errands.

She is survived by her son, Gerald (Corinne) Schauer of Wheaton, MN; daughter Elrena (Ronald) Schoening of Maple Grove; grandchildren, LeRoy (Karen) Schauer, Susan (Ronald) Schrupp, John (Rhonda) Schauer, Sharon (Jon) Roeschlein, Sally (friend Mark) LeBlanc, Peter Schauer, Scott (Jill) Schoening, and Paul (Lori) Schoening; great-grandchildren, Jeff (Joy) Schrupp, Julie (friend Matt) Schrupp, Jodi (Dustin) Michaelis, Lindsey (Sean) Drexler, Jacob (friend Kari) Schauer, Tony Roeschlein, Courtney Roeschlein, Ryan Schoening, Nicholas Schoening, Matthew Schoening, and Hannah Schoening; and great-great-grandchildren, Tarin Michaelis, Abigail Schrupp, Jackson Schrupp, Riley Drexler, and Nathan Schauer.

Elsie is further survived by her sisters, Ordella Schmidt of Stewart, and Elvera Lindemeier of Belle Plaine; and sister-in-law Shirley Fitzpatrick of Green Isle.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ordwin; and siblings, Arthur Lindemeier, Lloyd Lindemeier, Edna Stuewe, Lydia Lindemeier and Elvin Lindemeier, and Holdina (in infancy).

Funeral services were Wednesday, Nov. 19 at 3:30 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Green Isle Township, with interment in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Green Isle Township.

Visitation was Tuesday, Nov. 18 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington, and continued Wednesday one hour prior to services.

The Kolden Funeral Home in Arlington handled the arrangements.
