In 1965, they moved their family to Dassel, where they have resided since.

Elsie loved to read, paint, and do crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed scrapbooking, and especially music. Most of all, Elsie loved to spend time with her grandchildren, listening to their activities and adventures in life. She will deeply be missed by her family and friends.

Elsie is survived by her husband, Warren of Dassel; children, Lonny (Patty) Servin of Madison, Wis., Annie (Michael Crowley) Servin of Iowa City, Iowa, and David Servin of Hutchinson; three grandchildren, Makayla Servin, Desiree Servin, and Arik Breitholtz; four step-grandchildren, Jodi McManaway, Jennifer Howe, Dan McBee, and Ezra Crowley; brothers Carl (Lorraine) Soderberg of Minneapolis, Roy Soderberg of Minneapolis, and Robert (Jane) Soderberg of Pillager; a sister, Louise Peterson of Cokato; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Arlene, Mildred, and Myrtle; and five brothers, Rodney, Vernal, Lloyd, Wilton, and Earl Soderberg.

A memorial service took place Wednesday, July 9 at 2 p.m. at the Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel with the Rev. John Peterson officiating.

A time to gather with family and friends preceded the service for one hour at the church.

The Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel handled the arrangements.
