Linda Lee Smith, age 50, of Dassel, died Friday, April 25, 2008, at her home.
She was born Feb. 9, 1958, in Madison, Minn., to Manfred and Orda (Jensen) Stensrud. Linda was baptized March 9, 1958, and confirmed in her faith May 16, 1973, both at Louisburg Lutheran Church.
Linda graduated from Madison High School with the class of 1976.
She was united in marriage to Dennis Nelson in September of 1976. To this union, two children were born: Chris and Elly.
Linda found employment as a waitress at several locations in the Madison/Ortonville area.
She moved to the Dassel area, and was employed at Empak Plastics as a supervisor for over 18 years.
Linda was united in marriage to Jerry Smith July 4, 1997, at their lake home near Dassel.
In her lifetime, Linda found enjoyment in fishing, reading, painting, gardening, cooking, horseback riding, puzzles, and interior decorating.
She was a member of the Madison Legion Auxiliary, Dassel Rod and Gun Club, and the Smith Clown Club.
Linda is survived by her husband, Jerry Smith of rural Dassel; her beloved dog, “Squirt;” son Chris Nelson of Madison, Minn.; daughter Elly (Justin) Schmidt of Hendricks, Minn.; two grandsons, Tyler and Ben Schmidt, both of Hendricks; a sister, Joan (Alan) Mork of rural Louisburg; a brother, Wayne Stensrud and fiancée Susan; three stepchildren, Jeremi (Julia) Smith, Sheila (Steve) Unzen, and Justin (Michelle) Smith; five stepgrandchildren, Sophia, Summer, Caden, Emma, and Mason; and two nieces and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Manfred and Orda.
The funeral service took place Tuesday, April 29 at the Zahrbock Funeral Home in Madison, Minn.
