Joyce Irene Stoll Obituary – 02/20/08


Joyce Irene Stoll, age 92, of Cokato, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008, at the Cokato Manor.

She was born July 5, 1915, at Albrights Mill, near Sylvan, Minn., the daughter of Hayden and Hatti (Hess) Fleming. She grew up in the Albrights Mill area and attended country school for her education.

Joyce later attended beauty school and worked for many years as a beautician.

In 1939, Joyce was united in marriage to Lloyd Stoll. Following their marriage, they made their home in Minneapolis.

Joyce enjoyed painting, Dresden dolls, was very artistic, and collected clowns and teapots. She had a green thumb and planted flowers around her home.

She loved to serve others – wherever there was a need, Joyce was there to give a helping hand. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Joyce is survived by her daughters, Kay (Ben) Sunderland of Springfield, Ore., and Gwen (Dan) Stimac of Broken Arrow, Okla.; five grandchildren, Bobbi Phillips, Robin Mauro, Ben Sunderland VII, Tony Babcock, and Tracy Fitzgerald; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; and her parents.

The funeral service took place Saturday, March 8 at 1 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel with Pastor Al Jones officiating. Interment of the urn will take place in spring at the Howard Lake Cemetery.

The Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel handled the arrangements.
