Sherry Lyn Teich

Sherry Lyn Teich, age 50, of Underwood, and formerly of New Germany and Chaska, died Monday, Nov. 10, 2008, at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls, MN.

She was born April 5, 1958, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Emmert and Dorathy (Karels) Schroeder. Sherry was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie. 

She grew up in New Germany on the family dairy farm and attended school in Watertown, graduating in 1976. She then attended St. Cloud State University.

Sherry married Daniel Lee Teich Feb. 21, 1987, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie. 

She worked as an administrative assistant for Security Systems. In 2005, the family moved to Underwood, where she was a homemaker.

A member of the YMCA, and Tordenskjold Free Lutheran Church; Sherry was also a past member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie.

She enjoyed baking, fishing, Minnesota Twins baseball, travel, and especially watching her son Collin’s sporting events.

Her grandparents preceded her in death.

Sherry is survived by her husband, Daniel Teich, and her son, Collin Teich, both of Underwood; her parents, Emmert and Dorathy Schroeder of New Germany; two sisters, Joan (Jack) Holmes of Elk River and LaVonne (Gary) Johnson of New Germany; a sister-in-law, Tracy Massie-Brown of Shakopee; nieces and nephews, Adam (Anna) Holmes, Allison (Russ) Risdal, Andy (Jackie) Holmes, Holly (Justin) Davis, Josh Johnson, Drew Massie, Behn Massie, and Jed Brown; great-nephews and niece, Walter and Hugo Holmes and Reese Risdal; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and the original “six pack” of friends.

Funeral service was Friday, Nov. 14 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie with the Rev. Eric Nelson officiating. Visitation preceded the funeral service from noon to 2 p.m. at the church.

There will  also be a memorial service Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. at Zion-Sarpsborg Lutheran Church in Dalton with the Rev. Steve Carlson and Pastor Mark Johnson officiating.
