Jeanette Mary Tinglov, age 72, of Cokato, died Saturday, May 17, 2008, at the Cokato Manor.
She was born Nov. 30, 1935, to Joseph and Mary (Thomsche) Platz, at Albany, Minn. The family moved around a lot, and Jeanette grew up in Albany and St. Wendell, Minn., where she attended country school district 4.
Jeanette married Gordon Ake in 1956. He served in the United States Air Force, and they lived in Canada, Brady, Texas; and St. Cloud.
Jeanette later married Richard Tinglov.
In 1974, Jeanette and her daughter, Karen, moved to Cokato, where she took care of the Bergland family. She also worked at Green Giant and Faribault Foods, and cleaned houses in Cokato.
Jeanette enjoyed sewing, puzzle books, and cooking.
She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Cokato.
Jeanette is survived by her daughters, Karen Ake of Cokato, and Sharon Krienke of Gainesville, Fla.; grandchildren Philip, Christiene, Celeste, Gideon, and Gabrial; great-grandchildren Elizabeth, Alxi, and Madison; brothers George, Donald, Ervin, and Arnold; and sisters Dorothy Post, and Evelyn Kolodjeski.
She was preceded in death by twins Florence and Lawrence, who died at birth; a son, William; a brother, Joseph; and a sister, Margaret.
Funeral service took place Wednesday, May 21 at 1 p.m. at Evangelical Lutheran Church of Cokato with visitation for one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Steven Thorson officiated, and music was provided by Karen Anderson. Interment was at First Baptist Cemetery in Cokato.
Casket bearers were Jim Loe, Mike Lawyer, Christine Lawyer, Gideon Krienke, Cheryl Ortquist, Alan Anderson, and Kelly Keaveny.
Arrangements were by the Swanson Peterson Funeral Home in Cokato.
