Ordelia M. Wildung Obituary – 11/24/08


Ordelia M. Wildung, age 92, of Cologne, died Monday, Nov. 24, 2008, at the Good Samaritan Center in Waconia.

Ordelia was born Oct. 6, 1916, in Lester Prairie, the daughter of Emil and Emilie (Kruschke) Machemehl. She was baptized Oct. 29, 1916, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie by the Rev. Walter Baumhoefner, and confirmed April 13, 1930, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie by the Rev. J. Schert.

Ordelia was united in marriage to Donald W. Wildung May 25, 1941, eat St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie by the Rev. A. F. VomHof.

Ordelia and Donald farmed until December of 1969, when they moved into their new home in Young America.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Ordelia enjoyed her home, gardening, playing cards, and dining out. She lived at Peace Villa for several years before moving to Westwood Place in Watertown in December 1997.

Ordelia was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; parents Emil and Emilie Machemehl; brother Leonard Machemehl; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Fred and Helen Wildung; step-mother-in-law Anna Dorothy Wildung; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Edwin and Hilma Rolf, Carl Stender, Gloria and Frank Gates.

She is survived by her loving family; sons and daughters-in-law Dale and Mary Lou Wildung of Cologne, and Mark and Bonnie Wildung of Norwood Young America; grandchildren Jeff and Victoria Wildung of Cologne, Wendy Wildung of Cologne, Melissa and Adrian Pozzi of Chaska, Amy Wildung and fiancé Jeff Kuester of Victoria, and Bryan Wildung of Victoria; and great-granddaughter Jordan Wildung of Cologne.

Ordelia is further survived by sister-in-law Leona Stender of Waconia; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.

The funeral service was Wednesday, Nov. 26 at 2 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Benton Township, Cologne with the Rev. Eric Zacharias officiating. Visitation took place for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment was at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Cologne.

Casket bearers were Jeff Wildung, Vicky Wildung, Wendy Wildung, Jordan Wildung, Melissa Pozzi, Adrian Pozzi, Amy Wildung, and Bryan Wildung.
