Marlene K. (Salmela) Wondra Obituary – 10/06/08


Marlene K. (Salmela) Wondra, age 62, of Fort Mill, SC, formerly of Cokato, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2008, at her home.

She was born in Cokato, the daughter of the late Rudy and Elnora Salmela, and baptized and confirmed at the Lutheran church in Cokato. She graduated from the St. Louis Park High School.

Marlene has lived in Florida and South Carolina and was employed as office manager at Southern Lavatory, Fort Mill, SC, and as office manager at her son’s business, TNT Mechanical, Fort Mill, SC.

She was preceded in death by her dad, Rudy; her mother, Elnora, in 2008; her brother, Larry, in 2007; and grandparents Hattie and Ernest Hintz, and Mary and Caleb Salmela.

Marlene is survived by her husband, Jim; son Trevor (Athena); granddaughter Hailey; an uncle, Weldon Hintz of Waconia; an aunt, Lois Johnson of Richfield; many cousins; and other relatives and friends.

A memorial service took place Oct. 13 in Fort Mill, SC.
