Margaret I. Zoldahn, age 88, of Lyndale, Minn., went to her new home in heaven Friday, April 4, 2008, at the Elim Home in Watertown.
She was born Jan. 20, 1920, in Lyndale, the daughter of Anton and Ellen (Gustafson) Jorgensen. Margaret was a graduate of Mound High School, class of 1938.
She was a member of the Sight Impaired Group Gillespe Center in Mound.
Margaret loved to knit cotton washcloths to share with everyone.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Zoldahn; daughter Marlene Zoldahn; great-granddaughter Shayla Larson; parents Anton and Ellen Jorgensen; sister and brother-in-law Fern and Carlton Kenning, and Arnold Zoldahn; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Walter and Verneal Zoldahn.
Margaret is survived by her loving family: children and spouses, Catherine and Gerry Blauert, Marilyn and Darwin Lemke, David Zoldahn and Charlene Schwartz, all of Maple Plain, and Paul Zoldahn and Maureen Bridgman of Duluth; grandchildren Debora and Kirby Smith, Anthony and Laurie Blauert, Nathan Larson, Todd and Ann Lemke, Chad and Jennifer Lemke, Travis and Jessica Lemke, Rena and Matt McCarthy, and Ian Schwartz; and great-grandchildren Nicholas Smith and Jennifer Eckerman, Heather Smith, Jessica and Jacklyn Blauert, George, Gretta, Henry, Jacob and Andrew Lemke, and Maddison McCarthy.
She is further survived by sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Irma and Fred Hanson of Plymouth, and Gen Zoldahn of Minneapolis; best friend and cousin Alice Noreen of Maple Plain; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral service was Monday April 7 at 11 a.m. at Lyndale Lutheran Church with Rev. Gail Reitan officiating. Interment was at Lewis Cemetery in Maple Plain.
Casket bearers were Tony Blauert, Nathan Larson, Todd Lemke, David Zoldahn, Travis Lemke, and Paul Zoldahn.
