Robert E. “Bob” Anderson, age 88, of St. Paul, formerly of Dassel, died Saturday, May 2, 2009, from complications of a heart attack.

Bob was employed by Marigold Foods for 37 years.

He was a lifelong Gopher Fan, a 42-year basketball season ticket holder, and a veteran of the US Coast Guard.

Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elaine; parents Mabel and Reuben Anderson; daughter Pamela Classen; son-in-law Gary Classen; and granddaughter Emily Jean Anderson.

He is survived by his son, Michael and wife Mary O’Hara Anderson; grandchildren Paul Anderson, Erik Classen, and Heather Classen; sisters Wincie Haapala, Marie Larson, and Jean Appleyard; lifelong friend Douglas Olson; dear nieces and nephews; and many friends at Arbor Pointe Senior Apartments.

The funeral service was Thursday, May 7 at 11 a.m. at the O’Halloran & Murphy Funeral Home in St. Paul, with interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
