Donald R. Anderson, 50

Donald Ray Anderson, age 50, of Lester Prairie, died Tuesday, July 14, 2009, at the Hennepin County Medical Center.

He was born July 28, 1958, in Columbus, GA, the son of William and Viola Stringfellow.

Don attended and graduated from Blaine High School.

He was united in marriage with Sandra Zellmann Feb. 14, 1998, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie by the Rev. Sherri Sandoz and had 11 wonderful years together.

The couple lived for a time in Minneapolis, and then returned to Lester Prairie.

Don worked at Medallion Kitchens for the past eight years.

He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson.

Don loved to fish and work outside. In his spare time, you would find him doing suduko puzzles.

Don gave in life as he gave in death. He was an organ donor.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Stringfellow; brothers Alan and Gerald; father- and mother-in-law, Alice and Byron Zellmann; brothers-in-law Kendall Zellmann, and Darrell Zellmann; and a nephew, Nicolas Munsch.

Don is survived by his wife, Sandra Anderson of Lester Prairie; son Joseph Anderson of Blaine; mother Viola Stringfellow of Osseo; stepchildren Lisa Knoll (Cliff) of Fairfax, Brian Teubert (special friend, Jo) of Glencoe, Cheri Teubert, Mark Teubert (Pam), and Chad Teubert (Nikki), all of Lester Prairie; and step-grandchildren Alicia and Breanna Baumann, Nicole, Courtney, Chance, and Thea Knoll, Amanda and Beau Teubert, Ashley Hecksel, Britani Strei, Daniel and Chelsea Pecholt, Steven Hecksel, Logan and Anya Teubert, and Alyson, Wyatt, and Layne Teubert.

He is further survived by siblings Evelyn Baker of Maine, Bill Stringfellow of Stillwater, Larry Stringfellow of Phoenix City, AL, David Stringfellow (Norma) of Sandstone, Billy Stringfellow of Shakopee, Mike Stringfellow of Anoka, and Sissy Stringfellow of California; sisters-in-law Sharon Kuntz (Rodney), Kathy Young (Bruce), all of Lester Prairie, Pam Munsch (Doug) of New Auburn, Mary Fillbrandt (Bruce) of Mayer, and Judy Unglaub (Ron) of Lester Prairie; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services celebrating his life took place Friday, July 17 at 11 a.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie with the Revs. Scott Grorud and Randy Freund officiating. The organist was Shirley Holtz. Congregational hymns included “Here I Am Lord,” “On Eagle’s Wings,” and “Jesus Loves Me.” Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Visitation was Thursday evening, July 16 at the Paul-McBride Funeral Chapel in Lester Prairie.

Serving as casket bearers were Christian Young, Joseph Young, Tony Schultz, Nathan Fillbrandt, Glen Peterson and Kyle Hanson.
