Tyler James Baker, age 15, of Kimball, formerly of Rockford, passed away April 18, 2009, after a courageous 17-month battle with cancer.
He was born May 12, 1993, to Keith Baker and Dawn Carlson in Waconia.
Tyler was a very active boy, interested in all sports. Wrestling, football, baseball, snowboarding, fishing, camping, golf were just some of his many and interests.
He attended the Rockford School system, Apollo Schools in St. Cloud, as well as Kimball schools.
Tyler was always a positive person, even during the most difficult parts of dealing with his illness.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Bob and Irene Heck, Leonard and Velva Baker, and Don and Joan Dill; and a great aunt, Karen Stasny.
Tyler is survived by his father, Keith Baker and Tracy; mother Dawn Carlson; sisters Amanda Carlson and Alison Baker; brother Michael Hanson; stepbrothers Jared and Cody Anderson; grandparents Kenneth and Betty Baker; caring aunts and uncles Jessica and Jake Fitch, Wes and Nicole Baker; and many other family members.
The funeral service took place Thursday, April 23, 2009, at the Light of Christ Lutheran Church in Delano with the Rev. Lee Hallstrom officiating. Interment was in the Elmwood Cemetery in Rockford.
Casket bearers were Jim Frilstad, John Frilstad, Steven Golla, Jared Bay, Leonard Jobgen, and Todd Gartner.
Arrangements were by the Iten Funeral home in Delano.
