Born June 28, 1918, Dorothy grew up and went to school in Delano. She received her diploma from the DeGuile Academy of Beauty Culture in Minneapolis in 1937, and moved back to Delano to open her own beauty shop.
Dorothy married Art Bobrowske May 23, 1944, and moved to his farm in Howard Lake, where they raised their family.
In 1959, when her youngest child went to school, she opened Dorothy’s Country Beauty Shop in the downstairs bedroom of the farmhouse, which she continued to operate until 1986, when she sold the farm and moved into town.
Dorothy loved to dance, play golf, read, and play cards. She enjoyed rosemaling, quilting, and painting ceramics. She was justly proud of her beautiful handwriting, having been certified in the Palmer Method of Business Handwriting in 1929.
Dorothy was a longtime and active member of St. Mary’s Parish in Waverly.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Arthur Bobrowske; and a granddaughter, Kayla.
Dorothy is survived by her four children and their spouses: Jean Weber (Ron); Judi Wogen (Rich); Joel Bobrowske (Estelle); and Jack Bobrowske (Julie); five grandchildren, Jeff, Beth, Korrin, Tim, and Jaycee; and three great-grandchildren, Austin, Dylan and Hannah.
Dorothy will be missed dearly.
