Loren Edward Borchardt, age 40, of Cokato, died Friday, Nov. 6, 2009, at the Waconia Ridgeview Medical Center.
He was born July 31, 1969, at Winsted, to Melvin and Lorraine (Tschimperle) Borchardt. Loren was baptized and confirmed at the Church of the Holy Family in Silver Lake, and graduated from Cokato High School in 1988.
Loren worked for many years at Berg’s Nursery and Landscaping in Cokato. He also did work for some of the farmers in the area. He was always ready to help someone else.
Loren married Colleen Maxwell Aug. 9, 2008. They made their home in Cokato. A very good stepfather, Loren enjoyed teaching things to his stepchildren, grandchildren, and nephew.
He liked the outdoors, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was especially fond of his dog, Cowboy.
Loren was a member of FFA in high school, and recently became a member of Ducks Unlimited, and The Hamms Club.
He is survived by his wife, Colleen, of Cokato; mother Lorraine of Cokato; stepchildren Elena Truman of Big Lake, Anthony (Colby) Truman of Duluth, Angela Truman, and Nicholas Truman, both of Winsted; and step grandchildren Erick and Rozelyeen.
Loren is further survived by a brother, Lyle, of Cokato; and a sister, Janell (Eric) Lee and their son, Oliver, of Eau Claire, WI.
He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin.
Mass of Christian Burial took place Thursday, Nov. 12 at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Family in Silver Lake.
Visitation was Wednesday, Nov. 11 from 4 to 9 p.m. at Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Cokato.
