Clarice Emma Carlbom, age 94, of Stockton, CA, died Sunday, March 8, 2009.
She was born June 20, 1915, in Lester Prairie, to Louis and Louise Birkholz.
A loving, no-nonsense woman, Clarice was an avid sports fan who was a life member of WIBC Bowling Association.She enjoyed watching or listening to her beloved Giants, and went to every Stockton Ports home game. She also loved to read and solve crossword puzzles.
A member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Stockton, CA for 63 years, Clarice was active with the Ladies Guild and food bank.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard: mother and father; brothers Roland and Bruce Birkholz; and son Lewis Heigl.
Clarice is survived by her sister, Marvel Workman; brother Orval Birkholz; daughter-in-law Carol (Rollie) Bruckschen; daughter Lynn (Scott) Loichinger; son Michael; grandchildren Kim Johnson, LuAnn (Rob) McSwiggen, Michael and Karla Heigl, Michelle (Bob) Hardcastle, Ryan and Donna Delaney, and Amelia and David Carlbom; as well as eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service took place Saturday, March 21 at St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Stockton, CA, followed by a gathering of family and friends.
