Danielle L. “Speed” Craig, age 38, of New Germany, passed away peacefully Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, at her childhood home, surrounded by her loving family.
Danielle was born March 15, 1971, in Hammond, IN, the daughter of Danny A. and Lorraine M. (McGrigry) Shupe. She was baptized in Hammond, IN, and confirmed Dec. 14, 2003, at Zion Lutheran Church in Mayer by the Rev. Peter Meier.
Danielle always put her children first, no matter what else was going on in her life. She had a love of making crafts, especially porcelain and ceramic dolls, and was a certified Sealy Doll Maker.
Danielle loved to joke around with her friends, making everybody happy who was around her. She cherished animals, going horseback riding, and taking home any pet she would come upon. Some of her passions were going fishing and hunting, gardening, and tending to her white roses.
Holidays were a very important part of Danielle’s life, and she enjoyed the Halloween and Christmas seasons the most.
She will be deeply missed.
Danielle was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Burns; grandparents George and Elizabeth Shupe, and Roger McGrigry; and Uncle James Shupe.
She is survived by her loving family; son Matthew Botner of Winsted; and daughter Ashley Stangret of Waconia; parents Danny and Lorraine Shupe of New Germany; brother Brian Shupe of New Germany; grandmother Doris Renik of Shawno, WI; and numerous other loving family, relatives, and friends.
The funeral service took place Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 6 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia with visitation preceding the service beginning at 4 p.m. The Revs. Lucas Woodford and Adam Gless officiated, and interment was at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Mayer.
