Marjorie L. Dollerschell, age 75, of Minnetonka, formerly of Litchfield and Delano, died Sunday, Aug. 2, 2009.
She was born July 9, 1934, to Raymond and Dorie (Sturman) Justus in Minneapolis.
Marge graduated from Delano High School, and went on to St. Cloud State University, where she received her teaching degree.
Marge suffered a brain aneurism which caused a long-term brain injury, and eventually a stroke. She remained positive and courageous throughout these past 30-plus years, and continued her positive demeanor most recently as she battled lung cancer.
Marge was a longtime teacher in the Litchfield Public School system. She was an active volunteer in the Twin City area, working at the Washburn High School and most recently, as a columnist for the Freedom Point Flyer.
She enjoyed painting, movies, and writing.
Marge is survived by her children, Michelle and Gregory Whitcomb, Steve and Kris Dollerschell, and Tom Dollerschell; four grandchildren, Melissa, Rachel, Lindsey, and Judson; and two great-grandchildren, Alexander and Peyton.
A memorial service took place Thursday, Aug. 6 at 7 p.m. at the Iten Funeral Chapel in Delano, with a gathering of family and friends from 5 to 7 p.m., prior to the services. Chaplain David Hottinger officiated, with inurnment in the Delano Public Cemetery.
Honorary bearers were Marge’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were by the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
