Amelia S. Fisher, 85

Amelia S. Fisher, age 85, of Winsted, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted.

She was born Oct. 11, 1923, in Heron Lake, MN, the daughter of Louis J. and Mary Heger Voit.

Amelia was joined in holy marriage with John L. Fisher Oct. 8, 1946, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Heron Lake, MN. God blessed their marriage with nine children.

Amelia was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted and its CCW and St. Anne’s Society. She also belonged to the American Legion 407 and Lake Mary VFW auxiliaries.

She is survived by her children: Mary Kappel of Otsego, Robert (Terrisa) Fisher of Wayzata, Theresa (Paul) Otto of Winsted, Patrick (Darla) Fisher of Delano, Anthony “Tony” (Debi) Fisher of Cloquet, Colleen (Joseph) Carlson of Winsted, Denise (Jerome) Stoll of Hutchinson, Daniel (Debbie) Fisher of Winsted, and Steven Fisher of Marshall; 27 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; other relatives; and many friends.

Amelia was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Fisher in 1982; a grandson, Johnny Dostal; a son-in-law, Bob Kappel; her parents; and by 13 brothers and sisters.

A concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial took place Tuesday March 3 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Father William A. Sprigler and Father Robert J. Wyffels were the concelebrants. Readers were Jodi Gruenwald and Debi Drusch, and gift bearers were Bridget Clark, Jamie Rubenzer, Shillie Fisher, and Amelia’s other grandchildren.Interment followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery.

Visitation was Monday, March 2 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted. The Lake Mary VFW Post Auxilary had a prayer at 5:30 p.m. Monday evening, and a parish prayer service took place at 7:30 p.m., followed by a rosary.

Honorary casket bearers were Kyle Fisher, Noah Carlson, and Joshua, Christopher, and Matt Dostal.

Casket bearers were Michael Kappel, Jeremy Fisher, David Otto, A.J. Fisher, Nick Carlson, and Ryan Dostal.

The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
