Dale C. Guetzkow, age 65, of Watertown, passed away at home surrounded by his family Monday, Jan. 20, 2009.
He was born Jan. 14, 1944, in Watertown, to Wilmar and Hallie (Leaf) Guetzkow.
Dale owned and operated Dale’s 66 for over 20 years in Watertown.
He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, from 1965 to 1967.
Dale and Kathleen (Yantes) were united in marriage Aug. 21, 1965, at St. Mary of Czestochowa Church in Delano.
Dale enjoyed the outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, or hobby farming. He loved to spend time with his family and friends, and especially, his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wilmar Guetzkow; brother Wallace Guetzkow; uncle Lyle Leaf; and father-in-law Clarence Yantes.
Dale is survived by his wife, Kathleen; sons and daughters-in-law, Stacy and Heidi Guetzkow, Craig and Tonya Guetzkow, and Chad and Renae Guetzkow; four grandchildren, Kayley, Riley, Ella, and Griffin; mother Hallie Hensel; siblings and spouses, Pat and Jim Thrift, Duane and Jan Guetzkow, and Linda and Lee Farber; mother-in-law Leona Yantes; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Donald and Joan Yantes, Barbara Kern, Carol and Jerry Ketcher, Roxanne and Steve Danielson, Mike and Linda Yantes, and Ronald Yantes; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
A memorial Mass of Christian Burial took place Friday, Jan. 23 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown with the Rev. Frank Wampach officiating. Inurnment was in the church cemetery. Military honors were provided by the Delano American Legion Post 377.
Urn bearer was Dale’s wife, Kathy; and honorary bearers were Dale’s grandchildren, Kayley, Ella, Riley and Griffin.
Arrangements were by the Iten’s Watertown Funeral Home.
