Sheryl Lynn Gunia, age 55, of Delano, died Tuesday, May 12, 2009. A memorial service will take place Tuesday, May 19 at 7 p.m. at the Iten Funeral Chapel in Delano with Pastor Brian Lother of the Hope Community Church of Corcoran officiating.
There will be a gathering of family and friends for two hours prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by the Iten Funeral home in Delano.
Sheryl was born May 15, 1953, to Lloyd and Emma Jane Johnson in Minneapolis.
She was a loving mother to her sons, and grandmother to her grandchildren.
Sheryl was a “crafter,” and enjoyed all kinds of crafts, including flowers, dried flowers, beads, cards, painting and reorganizing making something for people was a passion. She also enjoyed having a good time, but also valued long walks by herself.
She was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Marcia (Gunia) Oschenbauer.
Sheryl is survived by her sons, Chad and his wife, Shelby, and Jeremy and his wife, Karna; the boy’s father, Mark Gunia; grandchildren Veda, Laken, and Noah; parents Lloyd and Emma Jane Johnson; siblings and brother-in-law Douglas Johnson, Scott Johnson, Kimberly and David LeClaire, and Todd Johnson; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
