Elsie E. Klammer, 93

Elsie Esther Hildegard Klammer, age 93, of Howard Lake, died Thursday, June 25, 2009, at Good Samaritan Care Center in Howard Lake.

She was born Dec. 23, 1915, in New Germany, the daughter of Wilhelm and Johanna (Lehmann) Luedke. Elsie was baptized Jan. 9, 1916, and confirmed April 13, 1930, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Hollywood Township.

Elsie was married to Edwin Klammer April 16, 1946, at The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in St. Paul. They were blessed with two children, and made their home and living on a farm in Victor Township.

Elsie loved gardening, and was always willing to help family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin; parents, Wilhelm and Johanna Luedke; six brothers, Eugene Luedke, Arthur Luedke, Gustave Luedke, Gerhard Luedke, Paul Luedke and Bernhard Luedke; and three sisters, Franziska Narr, Hannah Narr, and Viola Diers.

Elsie is survived by her son, Dennis Klammer of Howard Lake; daughter Jerrilyn (Duane) Erickson of Delano; three grandsons, David Erickson of Mound, Bryan (Megan) Erickson of Cokato, and Corey Erickson of Delano; two great-grandsons, Dylan Erickson and Riley Erickson; one great-granddaughter, Zoe Rose Erickson; a brother-in-law, Reuben (Doris) Klammer of Los Angeles, CA; two sisters-in-law, Ardis Luedke of Delano and Irene Klammer of Brooklyn Center; nieces; nephews; and a host of family and friends.

The funeral service was Monday, June 29 at 2 p.m. at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake with the Rev.Michael Nirva officiating. Special music was provided by soloist Marge Stueven, with Nancy Butterfass serving as organist. Interment was at the Howard Lake Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were David Erickson, Bryan Erickson, Corey Erickson, Harlan Diers, Roland Narr, and LeRoy Luedke. Honorary pallbearers are the Rev. Edwin Narr, Richard Luedke, Bert Luhman, David Wandersee, Alan Klammer, and Roger Klammer.

Arrangements were by the Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home of Howard Lake.
