Jessica Lynn LaFave, age 24, of Corcoran, died Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
Her perseverance and fight to beat the odds will always be an inspiration to all. Jessie was a beautiful, loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, auntie, niece, and cousin, and a dear friend to everyone who knew her. An Aug. 21 benefit for Jessie was a wonderful testament to how she lived her life through the outpouring of love and support shown.
Jessie was born Oct. 19, 1984, to Edward and Leanne (Colebank) LaFave. She graduated from Buffalo High School in 2003, and the Art Institutes International Minnesota in 2007, with a bachelor’s degree in interior design.
A very gifted artist and talented singer, Jessie was never afraid to express her thoughts. She showed her love by creating amazing works of art for loved ones. Jessie’s unselfish acts and compassion touched many.
Jessie is survived by her mother, Leanne (Chuck Dressen); siblings Tonya (Tim Dupont), Holly (Hollis) Larson, and John (Heather); nieces and nephew, Hallie, Haelyn, Gavin and baby LaFave due in September; and special friends Christine LaBerge and Jeb Miller.
She is further survived by grandparents, Bob and Ruth Colebank; many aunts, uncles, and cousins, and countless dear friends.
Jessie was preceded in death by her father, Edward LaFave; uncle Fred LaFave; and grandparents Leo and Marie LaFave.
Funeral services took place at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25 at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Maple Grove, with burial at St. Francis Cemetery in Buffalo.
