Iris A. Larson, 72

Iris Ann (Lipke) Larson, age 72, of Montrose, died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009, at the Howard Lake Good Samaritan Center.

Iris was born Feb. 23, 1937, the daughter of Frank and Amanda (Johnston) Lipke, at her parent’s home in Bridge Creek, Eau Claire County, WI. She lived her childhood and young maidenhood in rural Augusta, WI, graduating from Augusta High School in 1955.

Iris married Allan Larson March 2, 1957, in Osseo, WI.

Iris was a stay-at-home mom until 1984, when she joined the First Student Bus Company in Orono, where she drove a van for special needs children until a few years ago, when she retired.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Iris was always willing to help out wherever and whenever she could.

She is survived by her husband, Allan; her four children, Faith (Don) Larson of Delano, Jeff (Linda) Larson of Augusta, WI, Darrell (Charlene Vail) Larson of Montrose, and Peggy (Mike McKown) Larson of Watertown; 11 grandchildren: Nicole (Josh Sheridan) Larson of Watertown, Dale Larson of Eau Claire, WI, Brandon Nagel of Hutchinson, Melissa (Eric Vanderlinen) Larson of Osseo, MN, Tracy and Terri Larson of Augusta, WI, Peter (Laura) Larson, Mindy Larson, all of Albertville; Maisy McKown of Watertown, Kari (Jeremy) Hauslden, and Mike Vail, all of Hutchinson; and nine great-grandchildren, Aubrey Sheridan of Watertown; Dalton Vanderlinen of Osseo, MN; Kayleah Nagel of Hutchinson; Khristian Larson of Albertville; Nathanale McKown of Watertown, Caiden Vanderlinen of Osseo, MN; Samantha Larson of Albertville; and Josie and Sydney Hauslden of Hutchinson.

She is further survived by brothers-in-law James (Marilyn) Larson and William (Karen) Larson, both of Eau Claire, WI; sister-in-law Alice Pingle of Eau Claire, WI; and other relatives and friends.

Iris was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Carol Lipke; and a grandson, Steven Larson.
