Dorothy C. Larson, age 93, of Buffalo/Waverly, died Sunday, Nov. 29, 2009.
She was born Nov. 24, 1916, to Wallace and Rachel (Dignan) Peterson on the family farm in Marysville Township.
Dorothy graduated from Buffalo High School and went on to business college before being employed by Wright County Superintendant of Schools, Kings House, and Wright County Court House. She retired in 1987, after 31 years with Wright County.
Dorothy was always calm, always courteous, always treated people with dignity, and of course, had that Irish charm and subtle wit. She felt strongly about family and friends, and about keeping the Peterson family farm, established in 1874, in the family.
Dorothy thoroughly enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved trips to Alaska for the basketball games, playing bridge, dancing, and the motorcycle rides in the ‘30s.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry, in 1985; and her brother Wallace Peterson.
Dorothy is survived by her four sons, Harry and Karen Larson, Jim and Rachael Larson, Paul and Colleen Larson, and Donald Larson; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Arleen Peterson; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial took place Friday, Dec. 4 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Waverly with visitation from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the Parish Hall. The Rev. Timothy Cloutier officiated and interment was in the church cemetery.
Arrangements were by the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
