Cindy L. Marschel Obituary – 3/1/09


Cindy Lu Marschel, age 58, of Buffalo, and formerly of Dassel, died Sunday, March 1, 2009, at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids.

She was born July 30, 1950, in Litchfield, the daughter of Alvin and Luella Kruger Vargason.

Cindy graduated from Dassel High School in 1968.

She was joined in holy marriage with Duane W. Marschel Aug. 15, 1970, at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel. God blessed their marriage with two daughters.

The family moved to Buffalo in 1991, from Dassel.

Cindy was a longtime employee of The Carlson Marketing Group.

She enjoyed camping, her grandchildren, and entertaining family and friends.

Cindy was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo, and a former member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel.

She is survived by her loving husband, Duane W. Marschel; loving daughters, Hally (Ryan) Hughes of Maple Lake, and Krissy (Todd) DeVries of Plymouth; three grandchildren, Samuel Hughes, Austin DeVries, and Amanda Holien; a nephew, Lance (Karen) Vargason of Dassel; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Luella Vargason; a brother, Dennis Vargason; a sister-in-law, Jackie Vargason; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ben and Delores Marschel; and brothers-in-law Daniel Marschel and John Oberg.

Funeral services took place Friday, March 6 at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo. Interment was in Dassel Cemetery.

Visitation was Thursday, March 5 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., and continued Friday at the church one hour prior to the service.

Casket bearers were Gary Marschel, Jeff Baker, Larry Oberg, Matt Glunz, Tayler Marschel, Lance Vargason, and Troy Marschel.
