Harry Nowak, age 84, of Silver Lake, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009, at his home with his dear wife, Lucille, and his family at his side.
He was born Dec. 8, 1924, on the farm north of Silver Lake, the son of Boylish “Bill” and Frances (Yurek) Nowak.
Harry married Lucille Bayerl Oct. 13, 1951, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. God blessed their marriage with six children.
Harry was a lifelong farmer. He enjoyed many hobbies, especially gardening, fishing, and woodworking; and was a faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Silver Lake.
A memorial service took place Wednesday, Sept. 16 at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Brian Oestreich officiating. Interment was at St. Adalbert’s cemetery in Silver Lake.
Casket bearers were Phil Nowak, Tom Eischens, Joe Mallak, Gary Deidrick, Al Deidrick, and Melvin Bayerl.
Harry is survived by his loving wife, Lucille Nowak; children: Rose Mossberg Nowak (William) of Cologne, Harry Nowak Jr., Steven Nowak, Francis Nowak, all of Silver Lake, Carol Nowak-Miller (Ron) of Cologne, and Angela Nowak-Goloja (Gary) of Waconia; five grandchildren: Jenna Mossberg, Seth and Hallie Miller, and Landin and Claire Goloja; a brother, Florian (Marietta) Nowak of Silver Lake; a sister, Margaret Eischens of Silver Lake; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Cecelia and Bernard Jaskowiak; and brother-in-law Laurence Eischens.
