Delbert Warren “Bert” O’Loughlin, age 75, of Winsted, died Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009, at his residence at the Linden Wood Apartments.
He was born Sept. 12, 1934, in Winsted Township, McLeod County, the son of Warren J. and Ludwina Fasching O’Loughlin.
Bert honorably served his country in the US Army during the Korean War.
He was a 27-year employee of Chrysler Corporation.
Bert was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted, the American Legion Post 407, and VFW Post 9232.
He enjoyed photography.
Bert is survived by his children: Elizabeth (Dennis) Young, Shannon Votava, all of Winsted, Adrianna (Michael) Diaz of Monterey, CA, Delbert O’Loughlin (DeAnn Strenke) of Minneapolis, and Kelly (John) Nowacki of Winsted; nine grandchildren, Dennis Russell Young, Eric Young, Tasha Votava, Miranda Votava, Felicia Votava, David Diaz, Ryan Diaz, Dillion Nowacki, and Ian Nowacki; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lidwina Fasching; stepfather Edward Corr; and father Warren O’Loughlin.
A memorial service took place Friday, Oct. 23 at 11 a.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted, with Father Tony Hesse officiating. Interment with military rights was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
A time of gathering took place at the funeral home Friday, for one hour prior to the service.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
