David S. Opsal, age 64, of Montrose, formerly of Delano, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, at the Buffalo Allina Hospital.
He was born May 4, 1944, to Edward and Myrtle (Peterson) Opsal in Sisseton, SD.
David served in the Army in Korea, and was honorably discharged during the Vietnam Conflict.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Myrtle Opsal; sisters Annette Egbert, and Mary Lou Root; and a brother, Paul Opsal.
He is survived by his children, David and Royce Opsal, Dana Huss and special friend Pete Kittok, and Tara Opsal; grandchildren Justin, Autumn, Bryce, Cody, and Madalyn; siblings, brother Allen Opsal, Daniel and Linda Opsal, and Edward and Shirley Opsal; and brother-in-law Ronald Root; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A memorial services took place Saturday, Feb. 28 at the Iten Funeral Chapel in Delano with the Rev. Gale Reitan officiating. Music was provided by Karen Otto, organist. Inurnment was at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
Arrangements were by the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
