Darrell A. Plucker, age 58, of St. Bonifacius, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008, at the Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
He was born Feb. 25, 1950, in Lennox, SD, the son of Elmer T. and Jennie (Albers) Plucker.
Darrell was united in marriage to Judy A. Strandquist May 5, 1979, at the Buffalo Covenant Church.
A loving husband and father, Darrell enjoyed down hill skiing, and went to Colorado camping with his brother in the mountains. He had his private pilot’s license.
Darrell was involved in his children’s activities while they were growing up. He liked to go pheasant hunting and trap shooting, and cherished his time on the lake, being one with nature.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Jennie Plucker; brother Darwin Plucker; and mother-in-law Novia Strandquist.
Darrell is survived by his loving family: wife Judy; children Kristie Plucker of Boulder, CO, Michael Plucker of Maple Grove, and Heather Plucker of St. Bonifacius; brother and sister-in-law David and Terri Plucker of Parker, CO; father-in-law Willard Strandquist of Mayer; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Larry and Linda Strandquist of St. Louis Park, and Jane and Thom Murray of Ramsey; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.
The funeral service was Monday, Dec. 29 at 1 p.m. at Calvary Memorial Church in Navarre with the Rev. Roger Creamer officiating. Interment was at Oster Covenant Cemetery, Woodland Township.
Visitation took place Sunday, Dec. 28 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia, and continued Monday for one hour prior to the service at church.
Casket bearers were Tom Standqusit, Kyle Standquist, Aaron Murray, Jonathan Murray, Adam Brachle, Ben Plucker, and Andy Plucker.
