Helen Gene Posusta, age 72, of Dassel, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009, at her home.
She was born Aug. 3, 1936, near Hutchinson, the daughter of Louis and Lillian (Christiansen) Voss.
Helen grew up in the Hutchinson area, and graduated from the Brownton High School in 1954. After graduating, she attended a nursing school in Minneapolis.
Helen was united in marriage to Donald Posusta April 15, 1959, at Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. They resided in Silver Lake, Winsted, and Kingston, before moving to the Dassel area in 1968.
Helen greatly enjoyed spending time with her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild were the joy of her life.
She loved keeping busy, and always was reading, knitting, or doing a craft project. Helen also loved to travel with her family on vacations.
Helen had a great heart and will deeply be missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Rebecca Latterell of Sioux Falls, SD, Jennifer Dimond of Dassel, Lorraine (Kevin) Olson of Casper, WY, LaDonna (Terry) Johnson of Brownton, and Patricia (Todd) Remington of Watertown; nine grandchildren, Adam Olson, Daniel Latterell, Sabrina Butterfield, Hannah Dimond, Amanda Johnson, Victoria Remington, Allison Johnson, Hunter Remington, and Wyatt Remington; one great granddaughter, Layla Latterell; three sisters, Pam Bauer of Montevideo, Mildred (Vernon) Stuhr of Olivia, and Myrtiss (Charley) Schmidt of Silver Lake.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; son William; her parents; and a sister, Helen.
The funeral service was Saturday, Feb. 7 at 2 p.m. at the Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel with the Rev. John Peterson officiating. Interment was at the Dassel Cemetery.
Visitation took place Friday evening, Feb. 6 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel, and continued Saturday for one hour prior to the service at the church.
The Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel handled the arrangements.
