Ervin Peter Rech, age 84, of Dassel, died Friday, July 10, 2009, at the Dassel Lakeside Community Home.
Ervin was born Feb. 1, 1925, in Glencoe, the son of Jacob and Louise (Adams) Rech. He grew up in Glencoe and received his education there.
Ervin farmed in his younger years, and later worked for Advance Machines in Plymouth.
He lived in Glencoe and New Germany, before moving to Dassel.
Ervin was united in marriage to Corinne Lindenfelser Aug. 28, 1970, in Buffalo.
He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Darwin.
Ervin enjoyed woodworking, reading, and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Corinne, of Dassel; children Rodney (and Marlene) Davis of Waconia, Larry (and Cheri) Davis of Watertown, Dianne (and Robert) Kenning of Dassel, Janine (and Mike) Peterson of Prior Lake, and Jason (and Erin) Rech of Waconia; nine grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Rech of Minneapolis.
Ervin was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Victor and Ralph.
Mass of Christian Burial took place Tuesday, July 14 at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church in Darwin with Father John Pearson officiating. Interment was at St. Pius Catholic Cemetery in Glencoe.
Visitation was Monday, July 13 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the church, with a parish prayer service at 6:30 p.m.; and continued Tuesday for one hour prior to the Mass.
